wasnt quite that cool in here--only about 72 (yeah that is cool for us since its usually 80 in here during the summer and that doesnt take into consideration that the bedroom is significantly cooler, by as much as 10 degrees! and I think our thermostat is *&$# up, it feels a LOT colder than that!).

think it was the halmark channels or something like that--I had to look at it a few times to make sure I wasnt misreading (didnt have my reading glasses on), but yep, christmas

saw they had snow in indiana yesterday, been sometime since we had snow on halloween, though I do remember one when I was still in grade school--probably 4th or 5th grade that it was soooooo cold it snowed (and my mom made me change my costume out for a wool poncho --with some cowboy boots and sombrero--so that I wouldnt catch cold).

I said that S word!

I'd take 72, but I don't want to pay to heat it to 72 and keep it there. Too much money.

Oh Hallmark Channel is dumb. They play that kind stuff all the time. Because they can. Weirdos.

My wife said they had snow up there as well. Seems a bit earlier for that. It can wait until December or never. Both options work.

its not our issue here...during the summer its very hard to keep it down to 80 (being on the top floor), and during the winter if we dont have it set high enough--the bedrooms will be up to 20 degrees COOLER...so at 75 in the living room (where the thermostat is) its only about 58 or so in the bedrooms! a weeee bit tooo cool for me to sleep in.

snow can miss us altogether this year, would not bother me in the slightest.

so it went below 70 on the therm....so I have turned on the furnace--ah the wonderful scent of.....burning dust (cough cough)....(bedroom is in the 50's...yeah a bit frosty in there).

Ya I seem to remember you saying how hot it gets up there due to your computers. I guess your computers can double as your heater.

Burning dust, the smell everyone in the midwest knows...

not only the computers but being on the top floor (with bonked insulation in the attic)....so it gets pretty dang hot in here in the summer (when the a/c went out it was topping 90 --hotter than it was outside!).

had some frost last night (or was it this morning...) and spent some time fixing all the clocks (including the one that supposedly does dst change )....

and now its about that time...to get lists ready for that holiday I can do without.....but first, did some space management in the freezer so a nice birdie can hang out in there (now I have to go and find one the appropriate size----they should be out soon at the grocery stores)....and change all the calendars.

think its nap time again---time change really messed with me this morning

I'll take the cold over heat any day to be honest. One can always put on more clothes. At some point it becomes socially unacceptable to continue removing clothes. Even at home.

Since I park in a car port the frost doesn't bother me as much. My car generally is frost free when I come out, so I can just get in and drive away. Easy as pie.

Mmm, turkey, turkey day. Can't wait for it. Me love that holiday!

Nap time? Psh, not yet. Well actually it's almost bedtime. Go to sleep and get up for work tomorrow. Full week this week and then Veteran's Day off next week. Getting closer to the end of the semester.

our driveway is on the west side of the building so it doesnt get sun until later in the day --so there is usually frost on it in the early am.

and yeah, cold is better for those reasons

me love turkey too--going to make some turkey chili this week too

hubby has partial weeks for the rest of the year (use 'em or lose 'em vacation days)...gives us a chance to get some cleaning done (the garage needs to be rearranged after they did the new driveway) and do some early xmas shopping (can you say BLEH!)...but it also gives us week days that we can do other stuff like groceries and doctors etc.

ah monday, seafood day--salmon tonight!

Ours is on the North side, so we don't get a whole lot of sun at all.

Not a big chili person, but I'm a huge turkey person. Love that stuff.

Partial weeks? That sounds lovely. Full week this week, Veteran's Day off next week, full week after that, then 2 days and Thanksgiving break. Getting closer! Just have to get through this week first.

its kind of like your 'friday off' springs...only 3 or 4 day work weeks, and with all the holidays coming up there are even more days off.

I will just be happy after today--tv will be safe to watch again (tired of the ads), though most new shows are going into reruns for most of the rest of the year--dont quite see the point of showing 2 or 3 new episodes then having a 10 week break and showing 2 or 3 more, 3 week break and showing the last 2 (gee I remember when tv seasons were 20-30 episodes not this 12-14), guess I just shouldnt be watching tv anyways (NOT that there is much to watch, only watch bones and ncis on network stations and I think this is probably going to be the last year for bones). oh well

not a chili fan either, but found a recipe (on a diced tomato can) for a reasonable one, so we tried it and found that it is quite good and since its getting to be cool outside, fits for the weather (makes your tummy all nice and warm inside )

I'll take my days in the spring if at all possible. Here is to hoping for a mild winter.

The slander ads are old, that is for sure. That and nothing is on tonight. So ya, no reason to watch TV.

Cold today. Was 55 this morning and 46 when I left work today. Like what? Why? Colder this afternoon than this morning. Very saddening... That and it is dark super early now...

yeah, the time change...dark at 4pm ...I really dont need it to be bright early in the morning since I go to bed then! Tomorrow is supposed to be the last 'warm' day for a while (or so the 7 day forecast suggests)...guess its time to put away the shorts.

as for the winter....signs say its going to be a repeat of last year on a smaller scale with the east coast getting the brunt of the 'polar vortex' ...they can have it

yeah would rather take the time off when its nice outside, but hubby has to take whats left or lose it (only allowed to carryover a small amount of days), we had plans for a holiday later this year, but with both of us being sick for the better part of the summer and other crapppy real life it just didnt happen.

Temp is going to drop over the next few days. Which is understandable since it is now November. Though staying warm would be nice...

East coast can take it all they want. Just leave me alone. Thanks.

We technically never get a choice. Though tomorrow is supposed to be 63 before we head back to the low 40's on Tuesday. Super weird.

Wife made chicken and gnocchi back Friday night and then we went to my folks house last night. Been eating well these past couple days.

Hope you are feeling better, being sick is no fun.

She was home, but left yesterday to head back up for work. She doesn't get Veteran's Day off, plus I still have to work today. Yay for 2 Mondays this week...

Glad you are feeling better. Sleep is important, that is for sure. I slept really well the 2 nights she was home and then not so well last night. Sigh... Guess I'll catch up on my day off tomorrow.

Fall is definitely in full swing. Which means something worse is coming up...

am trying NOT to think of what comes next !!!!

Yes being at our own home definitely is nice. Makes the weekend more, uh, relaxing.

We are already getting some of what comes next... Wintery mix out at the moment... Blah.

Day off today! Woo! Means I can go get my cars oil changed and run errands... Usually change my own oil but I have 4 free oil changes with the place I bought the car at so might as well use them.

cant pass that up!
have no plans to leave my house today, still trying to catch up on the sleep I missed last week.
no plans for dinner either (oops)...made a ton of crab rangoons last night so still have a bunch of them left over (crab meat, cream cheese, scallions put into a wonton wrapper and usually deep fried, baked mine...typical american chinese restaurant fare)...so might just make something simple as a side dish.

and the xmas stuff is out already...ran some errands on saturday and one of the places had SANTA there!! (wrong day for me to be there!!!-but I wanted to get some new ornaments and when I usually visit that place they are already sold out of the good ones). oy!
guess I should take my halloween stuff down then?

And they washed my car too. Which was awesome, since I was going to wash it today anyways. Was a bit cold for that so to have it washed for me for free was nice.

I made my moms sloppy joes tonight. First time making them by myself. Pretty good so yay there.

Back to work tomorrow. 3 day week now. Go team go...

I didn't see any at Wal-Mart today, which is surprising. I also stayed away from that section though. So that probably helped.
